Social Service Program Director: 

Berkshire Children & Families, a dynamic non-profit agency serving Western MA, is looking for a social work manager to lead a well-developed team of 5 staff in an onsite partnership with the DCF Greenfield Area Office to operate the Family Networks initiative. Family Networks incorporates family centered practice, service administration and community resource development into a managed care model for achieving outcomes for families and children. The Program Director also carries a caseload of 30-40 clients in residential care. The successful candidate will be an experienced, team leader who approaches this collaboration with maturity and respect for the work of DCF, its providers and the families and children it serves. MSW or related degree required; 5 years post-graduate experience in family-centered behavioral health or child welfare related practice; advanced clinical skills; experience in individual and group supervision and managed care. Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills and fiscal/budgetary proficiency are essential to manage the interaction of systems, people, communities, services, case practice and budget to achieve measurable outcomes. Senior Family Partner: 

In Hampshire County to supervise staff who provide support to parents or caregivers of youth with mental health needs. Position includes carrying a part-time caseload of families with a youth with mental health needs. Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience as a caregiver of a youth with special needs, preferably a youth with mental health needs
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited university preferred and 1 year experience working with target population; OR Associate’s degree in human services field from an accredited school and 1 year experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth; OR high school diploma or GED and minimum 2 years experience working with children/adolescents/ transition age youth; and
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
  • Experience working collaboratively with state agencies, consumer advocacy groups, and/or behavioral health outpatient facilities
  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license, automobile and insurance

Family Partner: 

Berkshire Children and Families, with locations in Pittsfield and Hadley, seeks a family partner to provide one-on-one support to parents or caregivers of youth who have mental health needs. The Family Partner will work collaboratively with the family, community, school and other providers as part of a team. The Family Partner will engage parents and other team members in activities designed to meet goals on the youth’s treatment plan. The objective is to partner with families for the best adjustment of the child in the home and community.

Experience required:

  1. Experience as a caregiver of a youth with special needs. Strong preference for those who are or have been caregivers of youth with mental health needs. (Experience as a foster parent or adoptive parent desirable.)
  2. Experience in navigating any of the child and family-serving systems and teaching family members who are involved with the child and family serving systems.
  3. Possess a current/valid driver’s license and an automobile with proof of auto insurance.

Education required: Minimum of GED or high school diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Family Support and Training (Full or part-time):

Berkshire Children and Families seeks a family partner to provide one-on-one support to parents or caregivers of youth who have mental health needs. The Family Partner will work collaboratively with the family and other agencies as part of a larger team. The Family Partner will engage parents in activities that are designed to meet the goals on the youth’s treatment plan. The objective is to assist parents in learning how to resolve their child’s emotional and behavioral needs by improving the capacity of the parent/caregiver to parent the child so as to improve the child’s functioning in the home or community.

Qualification requirements:

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited university and one (1) year of experience working with the target population;
