Family Support and Training (Full or part-time):
Berkshire Children and Families seeks a family partner to provide one-on-one support to parents or caregivers of youth who have mental health needs. The Family Partner will work collaboratively with the family and other agencies as part of a larger team. The Family Partner will engage parents in activities that are designed to meet the goals on the youth’s treatment plan. The objective is to assist parents in learning how to resolve their child’s emotional and behavioral needs by improving the capacity of the parent/caregiver to parent the child so as to improve the child’s functioning in the home or community.

Qualification requirements:

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited university and one (1) year of experience working with the target population;
OR, an Associate’s degree in a human service field from an accredited school and one (1) year of experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth;
OR, High School diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth.

Experience:

  1. Required: Experience as a caregiver of a youth with special needs, and preferably a youth with mental health needs. (Experience as a foster parent or adoptive parent desirable.)
  2. Experience in navigating any of the child and family-serving systems and teaching family members who are involved with the child and family serving systems.
  3. Possess a current/valid driver’s license and an automobile with proof of auto insurance.
